Abstract

In 1976 four staff members of the Econometric Institute of the University of Groningen started the work of constructing a model of the Dutch economy for the postwar period. The model had to serve the following two ends: (i) it was to give an adequate description of the Dutch economy, and (ii) it was to be supplemented with a procedure to predict the main economic variables one year ahead.
