Role of Seminal Plasma and Sperm Fertilizability

Abstract

Motility of spermatozoa is one of the most important factors in evaluating the potential fertility of a given male. No consistent standards for the evaluation of this fundamental characteristic of the spermatozoa have yet been defined. While some groups use the evaluation of sperm motility in the seminal plasma as criteria, others study the rate of penetration of spermatozoa through natural cervical mucus, or artificial media.
