Abstract

Diabetes is uncommon in childhood, approximately one child in 800 under the age of 16 being affected. A general practitioner with an average list can therefore expect to have only one diabetic child among his flock. This particular lamb, however, may well cause more than his fair share of trouble and anxiety to the shepherd!
