Abstract

The term paradigm, referring to the set of all forms containing important elements in common, is useful in gaining an overview of contemporary approaches to policy evaluation. These approaches derive from three paradigms of inquiry: scientific research, directed social change, and theory of social justice. Table 1.1 classifies seven approaches by the paradigms of inquiry of they are members.
