Summary
Measurements at self-sealing and luted doors are compared and the possibility of obtaining estimates of emission via the British Carbonisation Research Association’s “Agreed Uniform Technique” is assessed. It is shown that (a) correlation between smoke grade and emission rate is good for individual works but is not the same at each (b) some modification of the B.Ca.R.A. technique is necessary in order to avoid over estimation of emission.
