Abstract

Colleagues and friends of Jack A. Ward were deeply saddened by his recent death on December 5th, 1982 due to a coronary thrombosis. Jack was born on September 2nd, 1935, in Lebanon, Oregon, the son of Tellis and Vena Ward. His youth was spent in Lebanon where he attended high school. He earned a Bachelor of Science in 1957 from Willamette University and in 1960, a Masters of Science at the University of Washington. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Illinois in 1965, working under Dr. George Barlow on the now widely known orange chromide, Etroplus maculatus.
