Abstract
The latitude distribution of CO in the southern galactic hemisphere has been investigated using the 4-m telescope of the CSIRO Division of Radiophysics. Observations of the 115 GHz transition of CO were made over the latitude range ±0°.975 every 3° of longitude from 294° to 357°. Results show that the mean z-distance for the CO distribution deviates by ±60 pc from the galactic equator but that on the average the data are well fitted by a Gaussian curve of FWHM 130 pc.
