Abstract

A complete sample of flat spectrum radio sources selected from the 5 GHz survey of the north pole region is being studied at wavelengths in the radio, mm, infrared, optical, ultraviolet and X-ray regions. These objects and the fields around them are also being observed with spatial resolutions down to milli-arcseconds with VLBI and various conventional radio interferometers and imaging systems in the optical and X-ray range. We give a progress report on the work. The purpose of this study is the investigation of a complete sample of compact nuclei with extreme activity.
