Galactic Propagation of Cosmic Rays

Abstract

After introducing various phenomenological models of cosmic ray propagation in the galaxy, we examine how some of thera fare when compared to the data. We show that a model based on resonant diffusion of cosmic rays off an interstellar spectrum of hydromagnetic waves can account for the presently available evidence on cosmic rays and the interstellar medium.
