Part of the book series: Boston Studies in the Philosophy of Science ((BSPS,volume 77))

Abstract

This study examines how and under what conditions scientific disciplines establish practice-oriented research in the boundary zone between biology and medicine, and in particular considers a number of attempts at the direction of theory-construction and research towards the problem of cancer.1
