Abstract
At a definite level of their development the material productive forces of society fall into a contradiction with the existing relations of production or … with the ownership relations, within which they have been developing so far. Those relations change from the forms of development of the productive forces into their bonds. An epoch of social revolution then takes place (K. Marx, A Contribution to the Critique of Political Economy. Introduction [from the Polish translation], Warsaw 1953, p. 5).
