Abstract
In this paper we present a model of neural response to pure tones and tone bursts. The model data fit the neural data over a large range of frequencies and levels. Some exceptions to this fit are discussed. The model is based on the Davis model of transduction which describes the cell receptor potential given cilia displacements. We augment the Davis model by assuming, as was done in the Schroeder-Hall model, that the neural response is proportional to the cilia current. We further assume that the current is low pass filtered in order to account for loss of the phase locked response for frequencies above 5 kHz.
