Abstract
The American Humane Association has been involved in the protection of children for over 100 years. Today, its education, Child Protection and Animal Protection Divisions engage in a wide range of specialized services. Through the Child Protection Division, American Humane is a national association of agencies and individuals involved in child protection, and is a voluntary, non-profit agency, headquartered in Denver, Colorado. In addition to its professional staff, the Association is guided by a national Board of Directors, an Advisory Committee of experts from the fields of social work, education, medicine and law, and a nationwide group of faculty/consultants 1).
