Abstract

In the scope of a survey run by C.E.B. over the procedures specified in its Model Code for Concrete Structures, a reliability analysis has been performed of those concerning columns subject to instability. A set of 60 statically determinate reinforced concrete slender columns has been first designed according to the specified procedures, then performed ext. second moment (Level 2) safety checks. Observations on the influence of different design parameters on the safety index β are pointed out.
