Abstract

Positron computed tomography (P.C.T) is a very promising tool for research and clinical applications in nuclear medicine. P.C.T. consists in yielding images representing the distribution of positron emitting radionuclides (11C, 13N, 15O, 18F...). The selected labeled molecule is administered to the patient and the P.C.T. allows to obtain its distribution in several transverse tomographic sections as a function of time. Many molecules have been labeled with these radionuclides to investigate very important physiological and biochemical processes.
