Further Observations on Application of “Plasticin” in Ear Surgery

Biomaterials in Otology

Abstract

Attempts were made at an early stage of microsurgery of the ear to substitute defective ossicles with the use of alloplastic material. Wullstein (H.L.) was the first otorhinolaryngologist since 1953 to apply auto-. allogenic- and alloplastic material in the ENT field. Therefore it may be of general interest to show the original slides of the years 1954-55 at a time when these visual documentations became possible for the first time in microsurgery.
