Abstract
My comments on generators from hospital points of view are restricted to the most widely used generator model being based on the column chromatographic process, having in mind that there also are other so-called generator systems. Most generators used in nuclear medicine today are available as licensed radiopharmaceuticals, delivered ready for use by a commercial manufacturer. The national authorities should see to, that the producer set up a proper quality program to ensure that only safe and efficient generators are delivered thus reducing the extent of further testing at the hospital or by the radiopharmacy to a relevant level.
