Abstract
In the midsixties a computeraided anaesthetic record-keeping system was designed at the Karolinska Hospital (1). The goals of this system was presented at the Forth World Congress of Anaesthesiologists in London 1968: “The medical goal is to create possibilities for a systemic follow up of the routine anaesthetic activities.....The administrative goal is to create a sound basis for rational planning and use of the available resources” (2).
