Abstract

The logistic support of a manned underwater structure through the water column will be a relatively expensive operation in relation to the life time cost of the structure itself and the use of alternative systems such as umbilicals. The aim of support system design, should therefore be to attempt to minimize the cost of these operations while retaining an acceptable level of support in an efficient and safe manner.
