Abstract
Using a turbine with a diamond bit may considerably modify the aspect and representativeness of the cuttings. The case studied here illustrates this sort of problem: it shows the 2 910 to 3 000-metre section of a well drilled in 1976 in an evaporitic series. This type of formation was not foreseen in the drilling programme, as it had not been encountered in previously drilled neighbouring wells.
