Structural Applications for Pultruded Profiles

  • Chapter
Composite Structures 2

Abstract

Analysis of fibre reinforced composite material working processes shows pultrusion gaining an ever-increasing share of the market. After a review which also outlines the process, the materials and specifications employed, the reasons for that situation are answered through description of selected and recent, pultruded profile application developments. These confirm the excellent, reproducible quality and structural properties of pultrusions, which further enhance those of for example, low weight, high strength and corrosion resistance for which composite materials are now widely recognized.
