Abstract

Given a specific site or area requiring a geoengineering evaluation, certain items need to be considered prior to initiation of field surveys. These include the specific survey objectives, time frame, location, local geology, anticipated geoengineering hazards, weather, logistics, optimum equipment, and selection of qualified personnel. The sequence of major steps in this process are outlined in figure 12.1.
