Spectroscopy of Biological Molecules

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 139))

Abstract

The spectroscopy of chlorophylls and biliproteins is discussed with examples selected from recent investigations. These include the structure elucidation of the phyto-chrome Pfr chromophore and the current status of the work on chlorophyll-RC I, work on the biosynthesis of chlorophylls by non-invasive techniques, studies on the in situ structure of chlorophylls and biliprotein chromophores, energy transfer studies in photosynthetic antenna systems.
