Abstract
To tackle the relations of neighboring scientific disciplines historically is no foregone conclusion, A view of their present relations — a systematic view — hammering out distinctions and locating points of contact where one can fertilize the other or detect blind spots should be rather instructive. However, a historical retrospective of the evolution of related sciences can also be made with a systematic purpose: to point out reciprocal relationships in an exemplary field of discussion.
