Abstract
The molecular complex (C10H8) (C5H5)2Ti2Cl2 contains two Ti(3d1) atoms that are weakly coupled. The magnetic susceptibility increases with temperature due to an increasing population of the triplet state. The photoelectron spectrum shows two peaks due to photoionization of Ti(3d) electrons, a main peak due to a bonding final state g = 2-1/2 (∅A+∅B), and a satellite peak due to an antibonding final state a = 2-1/2 (∅A+∅B).
