Abstract

Recovery of silver from used photographic processing solutions and from photographic films and papers that do not need to be saved, such as is often the case with industrial applications, is a very desirable practice. It provides for recycling rather than consumption of a natural resource. The practice helps in meeting ecological legal norms for the discharge of heavy metals, including silver, into the sewers. And of course silver recovery is economically profitable because of the value of the recovered silver.
