Abstract
Recent near-infrared observations of the Crab Nebula filaments indicate that Ni is overabundant by an order of magnitude, while Fe is underabundant by roughly 3 times, both by number relative to their solar levels. This suggests that Fe is depleted by grain formation. A lower limit on the mass of Fe in the filaments is 0.01 M⊙.
