Summary
A general overview of the first Framework Programme of the European Communities for a common strategy in the field of science and technology is given. Emphasis is put on the introduction of the Environment Research Action Programme into the Framework Programme as a mean to support the implementation of the environmental policy of the European Communities. An outline of the Third R&D Programme in the field of Environment and of its revision, to be effective from 1st January 1984, is presented. Particular stress is laid upon the follow-up programme of the Concerted Action “ Analysis of Organic Micropollutants in Water ”, the scientific content of which has been substantially revised and the title changed to “ Organic Micropollutants in the Aquatic Environment ”.
