Abstract
The primary objective of this chapter is to obtain purely infinitesimal conditions which are equivalent to the validity of resolvent commutation relations, which connect the resolvents R(λ,A) = (λ - Ā)-1 of one closable endomorphism A ∈ A(D) with another such operator B ∈ A(D).1 Here, D is taken to be a dense subspace of a Banach space E, and the most easily stated example of such a commutation relation is the geometrically convergent identity for u ∈ D
