Abstract

We can now apply the general methods developed above to the investigation of the quantum statistical properties of radiation interacting with random media, particularly with Gaussian and log-normal media, such as the turbulent atmosphere in certain regimes of fluctuation. We will not go into the nature and the structure of turbulence, which has been intesively investigated recently [e.g. Haken (1978), Sinaya and Shilnikov (1981), Jansen and Oberman (1981)], however we present a theory treating radiation in a fully quantal way, including self-radiation of media.
