Summary
The influence of Azolla on evapotranspiration has been estimated. It has been shown that under climatic conditions giving rise to a 1343 mm evaporation per year Azolla prevents more than 20% of loss. It is concluded that estimations of the economic impact of Azolla use have to take in consideration water economy.
