Abstract
The most important clinical application of labelled white blood cells (WBC) is the identification and localization of abscesses and inflammatory processes by scintigraphy after the injection of 111-In labelled autologous leucocytes (1,2). Lymphocytes labelled with 111-In are now also used for studies of lymphocyte migration and distribution in man (3). 99m-Tc has also been used for leucocyte labelling (4–9). Earlier fundamental studies on blood cell kinetics were performed with the use of 32-P-DFP (10). 51-Cr has also been employed in non-imaging applications such as cell kinetic studies etc. (11).
