Abstract

Adequate and safe anesthesia for the pregnant diabetic patient requires an understanding of the pathophysiology of diabetes in pregnancy. With this knowledge, we can apply our expertise in the provision of anesthesia in pregnancy to the diabetic, so as to minimize maternal and fetal morbidity.
