Abstract
We are now prepared to analyze in more detail the time-dependent stochastic behavior of certain elementary queueing systems previously described in Chapter 2 via deterministic approximations, particularly the properties of a queue with one customer type and a single server during a rush hour (time-dependent arrival rate) and of a queue with pulsed service (or other time-dependent service rate).
