Abstract
In this chapter we have considered the morphological, physiological and biochemical aspects of the endocrinology of Periplaneta americana. Every attempt has been made to refer to relevant literature in which P. americana is the experimental animal. In those instances in which useful experimental data have been obtained from cockroach species other than P. americana, this information has also been included. Unless otherwise noted, when the species is not specified, the information concerns P. americana.
