Abstract

The current I which flows through a p-n junction is related to the pd v which exists across the junction by the equation
$$ I = I_S (\exp (eV/kT) - 1) $$
(2.1)
where I s is the reverse saturation current, e is the electronic charge, k is the Boltzmann constant and T is the junction temperature on the absolute scale.
