Abstract

The general principle of blow moulding may be stated as follows: a gas under pressure is introduced into the interior of an envelope of heat-softened material, which is thereby expanded into conformity with the cavity of a containing mould, to form a hollow article when solidified on cooling. In the blow moulding of plastics the envelope is normally tubular.
