Abstract
In 1959, Mao Xie-jun, from the observation of inconsistency between quantities of teeth and bone, and disharmony between teeth, jaws and face expressed in length, width and height, suggested a new method of classification, on the basis of combining the symptom, mechanism and treatment of malocclusion1-3.
