Abstract
To fully understand the problems posed by certain types of graphic representation, it is useful to create a number of classifications. The technical progress made in the last few years, both in hardware and software, now provides access to all the graphic techniques currently in use. An object can be represented in a number of different ways, according to the design stage reached. This is illustrated in Figure 4.1, which shows the different steps taken during construction of a group of buildings:
-
1.
positioning the buildings on the site, using simple schematization for the installation of the blocks;
-
2.
perspective view of a group of buildings;
-
3.
schema of a living unit, with symbolic representation showing some elements of furnishing;
-
4.
plan of an apartment;
-
5.
plan showing the functional definition of an apartment, based on the requirements of the occupants.
