Abstract
Ten years of research in the fields of economic and sociocultural ecology, mainly conducted in relation to a number of projects developed by UNESCO, have offered a unique opportunity to familiarize ourselves with several theoretical and applied issues of an emerging science dealing with the interplay of mankind’s economic, social and cultural activities, and his natural environment.
