Abstract
The title of my paper suggests that trends in education for librarianship and information science in Canada may be different from those in the United States. It is an assumption that I had to test for myself, with the great advantage that my colleague from the United States, with his usual clarity and precision, delineated those trends for me over two months ago. This exemplifies how we Canadians depend on our neighbours to the south, a theme I would like to dwell on briefly.
