Abstract
The roots of the coincidence method introduced in Cosmic Ray physics by Bothe and Kolhörster (1929) can be traced back to Professor Geiger’s laboratory for radioactivity in the former “Physikalisch-Technische-Reichsanstalt” in Berlin.
