Abstract
The applications of photofragment spectroscopy to the study of interstellar molecules is discussed. The measurement of photodissociation cross sections is of direct astrophysical interest; in addition, the use of photodissociation as a half-collision event allows an examination of low energy collisions that are characteristic of interstellar clouds. Examples presented here include a recent half-collision study of CH+ and the extension of photofragment methods to the study of neutral free radicals CH and OH.
