Calculation of Radiative Lifetimes of Allowed and Forbidden Transitions

  • Chapter
Molecular Astrophysics

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 157))

Abstract

The calculation of radiative lifetimes of electronically excited states of molecules is reviewed. Both dipole allowed and forbidden electronic transitions will be treated. A literature survey shows a strongly increasing activity in this area of molecular physics within the last few years.
