Abstract

Organic synthesis remains of major interest for the production of a large number of compounds, especially in the pharmaceutical field or for high value added products. New synthetic methods are necessary for increasing the various selectivities associated with chemical transformations:

  1. i)

Chemioselectivity (selective transformation at one functional group of a polyfonctional molecule, i.e. oxidation of a primary hydroxyl in presence of a secondary one).

  2. ii)

Regioselectivity (i.e., control of the sense of HBr addition to a dis-symetric C=C double bond).

  3. iii)

Stereoselectivity (preferential formation of either one diastereomer or one enantiomer).
