Clustering Aspects of Medium and High Energy Reactions with Light Ions

  • Chapter
Clustering Aspects of Nuclear Structure

Abstract

Measurements of clustering in nuclei using a variety of medium to high energy nuclear reactions are discussed. Particular emphasis is placed on quasifree knockout reactions with light ions. The discussion includes experimental tests of theoretical models, the sensitivity of the reaction to clustering for various probes and energies, polarization effects in proton-induced reactions, and the relationship to transfer reactions. In addition to light-ion projectiles the use of pions and electrons is considered.
