Abstract
A population of supermetal-rich stars is searched among nearby and proper-motion stars. The metallicities, Teff, Mv are obtained photo-metrically and lead to estimates of the age and space density of the SMR subpopulation. Its origin is deduced from the evolutionary and kinematical properties of the SMR candidates.
