Abstract
P. Winkler: I’d like to mention a couple of problems that arise in the structure theory of graphs as metric spaces, studied by Ron Graham, myself, and others. Most of the work was originally motivated by addressing problems in communications networks. The idea is to decompose graphs and/or their distance functions. One way in which a metric can be expressed is by an l1-embedding.
