Abstract

From 1940 to 1983 no earthquakes in the southern part of The Netherlands with a magnitude smaller than two are detected. This study shows that detection and location of earthquakes with magnitude two or lower with the existing network is mostly impossible and that the capability to detect and locate can be improved only by an extention of the seismic network
