Abstract

At the end of the conference a public lecture was given by Professor Popper in the Teatro Piccinni of Bari. The text of this lecture has been reproduced in the following pages not only because it represents the most recent, systematic exposition of the philosophy of one of the greatest human thinkers of our time, but also because it provides a general philosophical perspective from which all the contributions to the present volume can be viewed.
